Applications are now being accepted for printmaking residency fellowships at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) during 2012. A selected Fellow receives support for a two-week creative residency in the Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage, an honorarium, travel allowance, a small materials stipend, and accommodation. A CCP staff printer provides a two-hour technical consultation at the beginning of the residency.

The artist-in-residence has access to all the resources of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. Available in the main facility are: six intaglio presses; a Griffin lithography press; a Vandercook press; an acid room; silkscreen equipment and power washer, a paper mill; a computer design lab; exposure units for photopolymer plates; and a copier for paper lithography.
 
The Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage is adjacent to the main facility and provides private accommodation, with a fully equipped kitchen, private bath, laundry, air-conditioning, Internet and cable. The studio in the cottage is equipped with two presses exclusively for the resident artist’s use: a motorized Takach etching press (39” x 72”) and a Martech manual etching press (28” x 48”). The studio has excellent light, plenty of wall space and work surfaces, and a state-of-the-art ventilation system.

A complete application must include:
A one-page proposal outlining your printmaking project and your goals for the residency (include preferred dates for your residency).
An up-to-date resume
2 professional references
5 images of recent work (full images, no details). These should be jpegs or gifs. High-resolution is not required at the application stage.
A listing of the works with full details (title, size, medium, date of completion)

Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, reside in the USA or Puerto Rico and be able to work independently.
Artist-in-residence are required to participate in a community activity such as a lecture, panel discussion or open studios hours during the residency.
