History
Celebrating Ten Years 1995 - 2005
Founded in 1995, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking was established to support and encourage serious emerging and professional artists in the creation of original prints and to educate the community to a better understanding and appreciation of prints and the process of printmaking. It offers both an historic and contemporary view of printmaking, encouraging traditional techniques as well as modern technologies.Today CCP is the only non-profit center between New York and Boston dedicated solely to the art of the print, including printmaking, papermaking, book arts, photography and related disciplines. It has become a unique cultural resource, acclaimed and respected by those interested in art on paper. It is a place to discover, to experiment, and to learn. The entire spectrum of printmaking arts is here to be explored through workshops, collaborations with master printers, exhibitions, community programs and an Artist-in-Residency Program.
Each year CCP:
-
Attracts over 12,000 individuals to exhibitions, workshops and printing session
-
Mounts respected contemporary and historic exhibitions
-
Provides a resource center and library for study and research
-
