| Encaustic paint is a very versatile medium. It acts as a colored paint, an adhesive, and a preservative. In this workshop artists will learn the basics of working with heated, beeswax-based paint. Participants’ prints, drawings, fabrics, and other collage materials will be transformed into complexly layered works of art. No experience necessary. Open to all levels. Leslie Giuliani received her BFA from the University of Delaware and has studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the School of Sacred Arts, and the Finishing School. She has an extensive education in the materials of making art. Her work is in the collection of the State of Connecticut and has been featured in two international encaustic biennial exhibitions and the national touring exhibition Oil and Wax. She incorporates printmaking, drawing, collage, and textiles in her own encaustic pieces. She has been an independent teacher for 15 years. Visit Leslie @ www.lesliegiuliani.com. |
