New technologies for digital imaging and printing are revolutionizing the ways we make art. Explore some of these new tools and learn how they can be combined with traditional printmaking. This workshop will introduce some of the techniques from the book Digital Art Studio, and will focus on creating nontraditional substrates to be incorporated with digital imagery. Participants will try a variety of processes including bleed printing, printing on thin papers, and transfers to fresco and paper. Participants are expected to have digital images prepared before the workshop, so some digital imaging skills are required. All levels.

Mary Taylor worked for over a decade as studio manager for Digital Atelier’s founder Dorothy Simpson Krause and continues to explore new horizons with Krause. Each year Taylor teaches her popular Digital Mixed Media Printmaking workshops throughout the country and her prints and artist’s books are exhibited in numerous exhibitions. Christopher Shore received his MFA in printmaking from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.  He has studied printmaking techniques in Venice and Florence, Italy and has shown his work internationally.  His work explores many types of traditional and non-traditional printmaking techniques.  Chris is the Associate Printer and Workshop Manager at CCP.
