is available for purchase at the Center.

"Robert Kipniss' "A Working Artist's Life" is the rarest of literary
achievements: a personal memoir, cultural history, and
textbook of craft and market. I was enlightened, entertained

   Cow with Raised Hoof, 1990
      Monotype

On view through Sunday, November 13, are "over 150 works representing subject matter that has concerned and inspired this artist for decades. Frequently the same subjects, such as his signature cows and dancers, appear in all media, and will be scattered around the gallery in the form of printmaker’s monotypes, painter’s oils on board and sculptor’s bronzes...

...However it is Boul’s monotypes that are at the heart of this exhibition, and for this artist, there is no perceived hierarchy in his studio where his two etching presses are a few feet away from his easel, always at the ready."

2011 Members' Exhibition: Editions

A creative mix of original lithographs, drypoints, etchings, Solarplates, aquatints, relief prints, embossing, digital prints, and screenprints is currently on display and introduces new works by CCP printmaking artist/members.

The “editions” theme of the exhibition challenges participants to produce an artistic, compelling image and—at the same time—explore one of the advantages of printmaking as an art form: the possibility of producing an edition; multiple, nearly identical impressions of one image. Each entry in the show consists of three impressions from an edition of at least five—and those three impressions are reviewed for quality and consistency, as well as creativity. One impression from each edition is on display, and additional impressions from each edition are also available, at the gallery.

CCP is honored to have had Michael Torlen, Associate Professor of Art + Design, SUNY Purchase, select the prize winners. In his juror’s statement, Michael writes: “Editions is a strong exhibition, presenting printmaking in a variety of skillful, wellexecuted editions, technically complex, many thoughtful and visually engaging.”

The exhibition is on view from February 11, 2011 through March 27, 2011.
